Algarve Plein Air is a community of artists passionate about painting outdoors. Inspired by the changing light, atmosphere, and natural beauty of the landscape, the group embraces the tradition of plein air painting. Through creativity, friendship, and artistic exchange, the collective encourages artists of all levels to connect with nature, develop their skills, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Algarve.

We honor the legacy of great European plein air painters such as Joaquín Sorolla, Claude Monet, and Anders Zorn, whose pursuit of light and atmosphere transformed modern painting. In their spirit, we chase the light and have fun with it.

Algarve Plein Air holds plein air painting sessions throughout the Eastern Algarve, exploring the region’s rich variety of landscapes, coastal scenes, villages, and historic streets. From the timeless charm of Tavira and the character of Estoi to the waterfront atmosphere of Olhão and the vibrant surroundings of Faro, each session offers artists the opportunity to paint directly from life while experiencing the unique light and beauty of the Algarve.
